Aaron Black

Aaron graduated from Clemson with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, holds dual licensure as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina and South Carolina, and is a LEED Accredited Professional and licensed General Contractor.

​With diverse experience managing projects from multimillion-dollar commercial ventures to intimate, client-focused residential projects, what sets Aaron apart is his unwavering commitment to excellence and quality. More than just a construction expert, Aaron is a believer in building relationships. His approach to business is deeply rooted in customer satisfaction. Under Aaron's guidance, Black & Alm Construction doesn't just construct buildings; it fosters trust, reliability, and unmatched service excellence.

Brian Alm

Brian’s expertise lies in overseeing project coordination, managing budgets and finances, and ensuring seamless communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients. 

​For over 12 years, Brian has been instrumental in designing and refining software systems specifically tailored to the construction industry. His in-depth knowledge of the industry's requirements, coupled with his programming expertise, has allowed Brian to create efficient and user-friendly software solutions that streamline job costing processes, enhance accuracy, and improve overall project management. In addition, Brian is bilingual in English and Spanish, which enables him to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Alan Jones

Originally from Greer, South Carolina, Alan Jones has lived in the Hendersonville area for over 17 years. Holding multiple roles within the construction industry over the last two decades, Alan has honed his focus on estimation and project management over the last 10 years. 

He thoroughly enjoys working with each client to help them make their project unique and provide the best products for their vision. When not working, Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.

A Michigan native, Koli has over two decades experience in the construction industry. Nearly 25 years ago, he took a job as a carpenter's apprentice to supplement his winter income as a seasonal raft guide. Soon after, he renovated his own home and fell in love with the work. Koli owned a successful renovation business for nearly a decade. He has overseen multi-million dollar projects for both residential and commercial clients. 

A talented woodworker, his attention to detail sets him apart in the industry. Whether it was owning his own remodeling company, overseeing the BIZ 311 project in downtown Hendersonville or sitting behind his desk managing jobs, he still loves this industry and is constantly striving to better himself and his team. Koli enjoys playing guitar and spending time with his family.

Perry Bartsch Jr. is pleased to be part of Black and Alm Construction as Project Manager.  He operated his own unlimited, licensed General Contracting firm.  Having constructed technically sophisticated (Blue Ridge Parkway Destination Center), high quality (Cullasaja Country Club) and time sensitive projects (NC Agricultural Center) projects, he was awarded the “State Order of Merit for Excellence in Construction”.  He spent nine years as a Project Manager, Facilities Planner and Construction Manager for UNC Asheville and was the Project Manager for the $34mil residential project (The Woods).

Dale Waldrup

Dale has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is an AHIT graduate Real Estate Inspector and a licensed Home Inspector.

Dale as been involved in nearly every facet of the industry with 12 years of management at Home Depot, over five years of experience running commercial construction jobs and he spent several years in residential and commercial sales for Pella Windows and Doors. Dale also owned his own business, Accu-Pro Home Improvement, for a number of years. He now brings all of this experience to Black & Alm.

He loves attending car shows and spending time outside with his wife and dogs. An avid fly fisher, Dale also loves watching football, baseball and basketball.

Tim Baumann

Tim began his construction career at an early age working in his family flooring business. Tim’s family started flooring in Erie, PA in 1885 and is still going strong in his hometown five generations later.

Tim attended college in Arizona before relocating to Alaska where he owned and operated his own construction business. His work has taken him throughout the West and most recently he worked on commercial construction projects in Arizona and California, including multiple renovations at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Additionally, he managed the building of several medical imaging centers in Arizona and California that included specialized building of MRI, X-Ray, CT,  and Mammography rooms.

Tim's attention to detail, adaptability & communication skills, truly sets his work apart, and he thoroughly enjoys working with clients to transform their visions into reality.

In his free time, Tim enjoys the being outdoors, camping, and hiking. He also love to travel, listen to live music, cook, garden and spending time with his family and friends.

Cory Damon

Superintendent

A South Florida native and now a proud Asheville area citizen, Cory has over a decade of experience in many facets of the construction industry. He has done it all from swinging a hammer, to gluing sprinkler pipe connections, to managing a multimillion dollar apartment building renovation in downtown Asheville. Cory is a creative problem solver and a people person able to work well with others to get the job done. He was a founder of a start up real estate investment and property management business that has acquired and fixed up numerous properties across WNC.

Cory is a dog lover and a tree hugger and loves the great outdoors. He has visited many state parks on extended camping wilderness journeys and enjoys hiking and exploring. He loves spending time with his young daughter and son and hopes they will also become disc golfers one day. A huge fan of all things sports, Cory is a loyal supporter and die hard Buffalo Bills Mafia member.

Elijah Ferguson

Estimator

Elijah is a results-driven estimator with more than a decade of experience in construction estimating and project management. A native of Waynesville, North Carolina, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Western Carolina University. Elijah has extensive experience preparing accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, supporting successful project execution and cost control in the WNC area. 

Outside of work, Elijah enjoys traveling, fishing, and gardening. Whether planning a trip, tending a garden, or spending time outdoors, he values patience, planning, and craftsmanship. These principles also guide his work in construction.
